Using Ghar

You need to be at least 16 and give a real email address you control. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us at hello@gharapp.co if you think someone else has got into it.

What Ghar is not

Your house's data

Expenses, splits and settlements are shared records. Everyone currently in the house can see them, and the house admin can change how bills are split. Once a settlement period is closed, the expenses inside it are locked so the history stays honest.

Only add receipts and photos you are entitled to share, and only add housemates who have agreed to be added.

Getting the numbers right

We work hard on the arithmetic — money is handled in whole cents and every split is checked to add back up to the total. Even so, Ghar reflects what people enter. If someone types the wrong amount or forgets a receipt, the balances will be wrong, and that is not something we can detect. Check the figures before you settle up.

Fair use

Do not use Ghar to:

We can suspend an account that does these things, and will tell you why unless we are legally unable to.

Leaving

You can leave a house or delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting removes your identity and your photos; the expenses you paid for stay in the house's ledger so the remaining housemates' balances do not silently change. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is erased.

Availability

Ghar is offered as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of bugs, and features may change as the app develops. We will not deliberately break something you depend on without warning you in the app first.

Liability

Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded. Beyond those rights, Bloom Dots is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us for Ghar in the previous twelve months — which, while the app is free, is nil.

We are not responsible for disputes between housemates, or for money owed, paid or not paid between you.

Changes to these terms

If we change anything material, we will update this page and let you know in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ghar after that means you accept the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute.
